Twelve clauses, and seven on the island next door

Twelve territorial clauses name Jamaica, five of them drawn from documents that stop between fourteen and thirty-eight entries. Six hundred miles east, the Dominican Republic finishes on seven, and the five-document gap between the two islands consists entirely of those short schedules. Twenty-six documents were read through with the island unmentioned, while sixty-two brands from the hundred surveyed proved impossible to read at all.

Four islands, four figures, three separate causes

The Caribbean markets in this index arrive at seven, eleven, eleven and twelve, and the coincidence in the middle dissolves on inspection.
