Malta, and the shape of its roster
Nine documents print Malta, and every one of them is a short roll
Nine of the 38 territory documents opened for this index print Malta, and each of the nine holds 40 entries or fewer. The seven longest documents in the set, running to 95 entries and beyond, pass over the country altogether.
Nine rolls, and the length of every one
Nine territory documents among the thirty-eight opened here print Malta, which places the country fiftieth of the 122 markets in the set. The interesting figure is the second one: each of the nine holds forty entries or fewer. Sportsbet.io and CoinCasino stop at eleven apiece, Wolf.bet at eighteen, Instant Casino at twenty, Metaspins at twenty-two, Wild Fortune and Wild.io at twenty-five each, Rocketpot at twenty-six and Winz.io at forty.
Seven rolls opened here hold ninety-five entries at the least, the largest of them stretching to a hundred and five, and Malta sits beyond every one. Most European markets on this site collect those seven first and build upward. Malta arrives at nine by the opposite route, one deliberate entry at a time.
A total built without a single sweep
Seventeen of the 122 markets in the set stand clear of all seven sweeping rolls, and Malta scores the highest of the European names in that group. Australia leads the seventeen with thirteen; after Malta's nine, the group falls away sharply — Austria six, the United Arab Emirates four, Denmark and Slovenia two apiece, Italy and Switzerland one each.
So nine entries were each written down on purpose by a firm that named twenty or thirty markets in total. That is the strongest form this data takes. A sweeping roll tells a reader about the firm that drafted it; a short roll tells a reader that somebody weighed this particular market and wrote the name in.
Where the nine are published
Five of the nine addresses were read from the live page that day, the highest live share of any roster in this group, and four came from archived captures.

The licence column, read across the table
What each operator publishes about itself: the company named on the licence, the permit number and where it was read, how many countries the operator excludes in its own terms, and when identity documents are demanded. The country count is the length of a list the operator published, not our estimate of where it will accept you. An empty cell means the document was not read — it is not a zero, and it is not a permission.

Ten of the twelve brands set side by side here record a Curaçao entry in the licence column, nine of those under the Curaçao Gaming Authority with a numbered permission, and two cells hold nothing pending a reading. The column records Curaçao throughout. The observation covers these twelve brands and the documents read for them, and it stops at the edge of the table.
The Maltese name also stays clear of every roll in that table read for this index. Four brands carry one: the fourteen-name roll published by Bets.io, nine names from Shuffle, two from Cloudbet and one from Stake. The remaining eight cells stayed empty, each holding a place for a clause nobody opened in this pass, and sixty-two brands in the wider library sit at the same stage.
Neighbouring counts, and what separates them
Cyprus reaches twelve and Greece fourteen, both higher than Malta and both drawing on the long documents Malta escapes. Italy, at one, sits far below with a roster of the same selective type. Three totals within a short flight of each other, spread from one to fourteen, and the length of the documents involved explains the spread better than any map does.
Each figure comes from a company's own trading paper, kept in step with the permissions it holds and the banking behind it, and rewritten whenever either of those moves. Maltese legislation sits with the authorities that write and enforce it, and this index leaves that subject to them. The country index holds the rest of the spread, and the reading rules set out how each number was earned.
